  • We Thank Our Volunteers

Volunteers mean the world to the Miracle League of Northampton County. We could provide the excellent environment to play baseball for our players without them whether they are in the field as buddies, working in the concession stand, announcing, working the video board or sitting at the fan wear table they are all so important.

Every once in a while we get the opportunity to get a group picture of the volunteers and the players. This picture was taken on Thursday night, September 21, 2017, when the golf team from Lafayette College and the Phantom Girls Soccer team were the buddies. We thank them for providing a wonderful experience for our players.buddies

  • Easton Angels are Great!!!

ml-1The Easton Angels of Easton Area High School provided the Miracle League of Northampton County with a check for $3400 at its June 10, 2017 Miracle League game.  Since the Angels was formed in 2012 they have been a very important organization to the MLNC in many ways.  Many of the members have been very active at our games and special events by providing buddies, video board operators, announcers and when we need help in the concession stand they step forward if they are at the field.  Each of the past several years they have had fund raisers and our league has been one the benefactors of their generosity.  On behalf of the Board of Directors and Players we thank the Easton Angels.

  • 2017 Super Volunteers

In 2016, the Board of Directors of the Miracle League of Northampton County initatied a program where they honor volunteers (normally seniors in high school) who have gone above and beyond to help their league and players.  In 2017, the Board chose two members of the Easton Angels – Abbey Heimbach and Joe Salas as this years Super Volunteers.  At a Miracle League game on June 10th they were honored and presented with a check for $500 and a plaque by Vice President Ric Agretto.  We all thank Abbey and Joe for what they have done over the past several years.ml-4 ml-3

  • Abbey and Joe IronPigs Community Star Award Recipients

abbey_Joe_042017At the IronPigs game on April 23, 2017 Abbey Heimbach and Joe Salas were honored with the Community Star Award.  The following is the narative that was read to the IronPigs fans by Kurt Landis.

“Joe and Abbey are Seniors at Easton Area High School and outstanding representatives of the youth of our community.  Their volunteer work with the Miracle League of Northampton County is a shining example of the best of our students in the Lehigh Valley have to offer.

When you see a Miracle League game for the first time you will be amazed by what you see. Special needs children of all ages and abilities playing the game of baseball. Running, walking and wheeling around the field, hitting a baseball for the first time. The smiles on the players faces tell you that you are truly witnessing something special. At the heart of this experience are our volunteers, and at the heart of our volunteers are Joe Salas and Abbey Heimbach.

Joe and Abbeys signature are all over what we do. They can be witnessed being buddies with our kids needing the most attention, putting them at ease with their confidence and calm demeanor. They can be seen be running the scoreboard, announcing a game, coaching a team or flipping hamburgers. They organize other groups of students to volunteer and put in hours and hours of volunteer time doing whatever they can to make The Miracle League Experience the best it can be for our very special players and their families. That, ladies and gentlemen, is a true Community Star.

I am very proud to recognize Abbey Heimbach and Joe Salas as a Community Star Award Recipient.”

The MLNC family congratulates and is very proud of Abbey and Joe as recipients of this award.
